Resources for the Realities of Caregiving

Practical information, free downloads and useful tools selected with caregivers in mind.

This collection will grow over time as we learn what caregivers need most.

Start With What You Need Today

Unexpected Caregiving

For the moments when everything changes without warning and you suddenly find yourself managing your life and someone else’s too. Start with the next thing, not everything.

Practical Help

Find checklists, planning tools and straightforward information to help you manage appointments, decisions, paperwork and daily responsibilities.

I Need Help Too

Find resources for caregiver stress, boundaries, rest and the emotional weight of caring for someone else, without pretending any of it is easy.

Trusted Places to Start

These are a few established services that can help you begin looking for information or support. Caregiver Corner is not a directory and does not endorse every service an organization may provide. We share starting points, and you decide what feels useful.

211

Call or text 211 to connect with a real person who can help you find non-emergency community programs, social services and government supports. The service is free, confidential and available by phone or text 24 hours a day. Learn more from 211 Ontario.

Ontario Caregiver Helpline

Caregivers in Ontario can call 1-833-416-2273 (CARE) for free, confidential help finding caregiver programs, respite, support groups and other services. The phone line is available 24 hours a day and is offered in English and French, with interpretation available in other languages. Visit the Ontario Caregiver Helpline.

When You Need Immediate Help

Caregiver Corner is not a crisis or emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. If you or someone you know is thinking about suicide or needs crisis support in Canada, call or text 988 at any time. Visit the 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline.
